Let's meet the creator of the series, Messy Marvyn and Friends, Cherly M. Charles, a woman who sees her journey with this series as a personal life saver for her. Cheryl was born in Trinidad and Tobago but spent most of her life here in Canada. She would tell you that her journey with Marvyn started about 20 years ago until she finally brought his story to life. Messy Marvyn and Friends is about a group of young friends of diverse backgrounds and who have different personalities. Messy Marvyn' Rainy Day Fun and those to follow demonstrate caring, acceptance and kindness. We will also be discussing Cheryl's own struggles, how they have shaped her life, and how her writing is helping.
Grace is the author of two books, "Mercy" and "All is Well" and is quite the story-teller. She was born in Trinidad and Tobago and left to search for a better life. Grace travelled to England and later immigrated to Canada. Grace's story is one of trauma, hurt, overcoming and resilience.
This is the final episode of this Caribbean Authors series and culminates my Black History Month contribution. My guest this week is Angela C. Charles, a Dominican-born fiction author. Her book, "God is Silent" is one that I could not put down once I started reading. In the book, Angela explores the themes of love, family, communication and faith.
