To provide individuals with mindfulness, a growth mindset, and confidence-building resources that will empower them to build the resilience needed to break through barriers to success.
Amanda is Trinidadian-Canadian with over 30 years' experience as an educator and 10 years as a legal professional. She holds a Bachelors' Degree in Educational Administration and an MSc in Sociology, and is a trained life-skills and parenting facilitator.
She conducted workshops such as Anger Management, The Role of the Parent, Disciplining the Young Child, and staff development workshops to improve teacher professionalism and effectiveness.
Amanda has been a volunteer with the Caribbean Canadian Association of Waterloo Region serving as Director for almost 4 years and a member of the organization's Scholarship Committee for about six years. Being a part of this non-profit organization gives her first-hand insight to the systemic injustices faced by Blacks and other racialized members of the community, and gives Amanda an opportunity to work alongside likeminded individuals to find ways to alleviate some of the issues.
Recently, Amanda hosted a Facebook Live series that focused on resilience and empowerment. The videos can be viewed on her YouTube Channel. Her goal is to help individuals, especially women of colour, build the confidence and skills needed to break through the barriers to success that they encounter.
